Dr. K. V. Kale, Professor and Head of Dept. of Computer Science and Information Technology, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada, University, Aurangabad, born in 2nd of August 1962 in poor farmer’s family in a very small village of Aurangabad district of Maharashtra where basic requirement of survival were not available.

While taking his school education he worked in the farm. To earn money for his college education he held many odd jobs.

He completed his Graduation and Post graduation in the subject of physics with electronics) in 1985 and 1987 respectively in Deogiri College, Aurangabad.

He has also completed Bachelors Degree in Education in 1989.

As a passion for an era of Computer Science and Information Technology he completed M.C.A (Engg & Tech) degree in 1995 from Govt. College of Engineering, Aurangabad.

He completed his Ph. D. degree in the area of Superionics during his service as a Lecturer in Deogiri College, Aurangabad.

• Developed the department academically and well equipped infrastructure established in the new Building of the Department to sustain the academic excellence.
• Taken key role to frame and start the M.Sc in Information Technology Course in the University and B. Sc. Computer Science/ Information Technology to the affiliated colleges of this university, which is highly appreciated among the students and academicians. 
• Taken painful efforts to established U.G.C Internet Access Centre in the University and establish the UGC-INFONET facility in the University Campus. Through this center he had conducted the various training program and workshop particularly Internet Awareness Training program and E-education workshop for university teachers and researchers.
• As a convener, he organizes workshops in the field of parallel and grid computing, e-education and national conference on “Commuter Communication and Security-2004. Also act as a Session chair and keynote speaker in various workshop and conferences.
• His contribution in the university resources to accord the grant under various project and schemes from UGC is more than RS 45 lakh. 

He is a member of Board of Studies (BOS) of various universities like Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, SRT University, Nanded and Amrawati University, Amrawati in the subject of Computer Science and Electronics. He is act as a chairman of Board of Examinations in Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad and SRT Nanded.

He is associated with various professional bodies Viz. life member of Indian Physics Association, Computer Society of India, Indian Unit of International Association for Pattern Recognition (IUIAPR) and a Fellow of IETE New Delhi and Member of IEEE and IEEE-SA. He is presently acting as a Hon. Secretary, IETE Aurangabad Local Chapter.

He is also associated with the various bodies of Government, Semi-Government, Academic, Social and Industrial Organizations to support and provide the technical expertise.

His teaching and research experience is more than 16 years, during teaching he taught in the various courses at post-graduate and graduate level like Digital electronics, Discrete Mathematics, Logical Organization of Computer, System Analysis and Design, Numerical Methods, Computer Graphics, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Image Processing, Computer vision, Programming Language, Object Oriented Techniques and systems Embedded system, etc.

His area of interest is Digital Image Processing, Biometrics, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Pattern Recognition, Information Communication Technology (ICT) and High Performance Computing (HPC).

He contributed more than 40 symposia’s, seminars, workshops, and conferences at National and International levels conducted by various organizations. He had more than 40-research articles/ papers at his credit published at National/ International conferences and reputed journals. More than 15 Students working under his guidance at Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad, Pune University, Pune and Amrawati University, Amrawati in the emerging field of Computer Science.

Apart from teaching, administration and co-curricular activity, he is actively engaged is research activity. He had completed one minor research project and currently working on Biometrics Major Research Project with the help of one project fellow.

Presently he is assigned with nation and international publishers for publishing books in the field of Computer science and IT. Also, tries to collaborate with national/international agencies, organizations and industries for the academic excellence and quality base research.
